Last week, Carter had his 4-month doctor's appointment. Our baby is growing like a weed! He was 16 pounds, 14 ounces, and 26 inches long. He's in the 90th percentile for height, weight, and -- big surprise -- head size. Believe it or not, we had to take him back to the doctor this week because we suspected an ear infection. In one week exactly, he jumped to 18 pounds. He's officially wearing 6 month clothing, as well. We absolutely cannot keep up with him! Because he eats so much (6 ounces every 2-3 hours) we started him on food two weeks ago. The first week was rice cereal. He gobbled it up the first two days. We think that's because it was new. Afterwards though, he decided he wasn't such a fan of it. On week two we switched him to oatmeal, which he seems to like much better. This week, we debuted actual veggies -- carrots we boiled and pureed here at home. As was to be expected, he LOVES them. Next week? Squash.
Developmentally, he's amazing, as well! He's laughing now fairly regularly. He tries to stand all the time and when laying on his back is constantly grabbing his feet and rolling to the side. As for now, he's only rolling over from his stomach to his back. He's not such a huge fan of "tummy time," so we're guessing he won't be in any real hurry to roll from his back to his stomach. I promise to upload video soon.
Dave took some recent pictures of floor time with Carter. He L-O-V-E-S to be naked (something he definitely doesn't get from his mother). Also, Dave thinks he has "old man butt" -- check out the first picture.
